Zakiya Alta Lee-Hill is a Principal at Idea Fund Partners, where she brings sharp business instincts, deep relationship-building skills, and a commanding presence to every conversation—from fund pitches to founder meetings. Known for her magnetic personality and powerful communication style, Zakiya plays a key role in fundraising, founder support, and expanding the firm’s strategic network.
Her professional journey began as an NBA dancer for the Atlanta Hawks right out of college, where she quickly stood out as a performer, choreographer, and ambassador for the organization. That experience led her to launch Z Pro Prep, a multi-city platform that trained and coached aspiring entertainers to secure spots on top NFL and NBA teams across the country. Through building that business, Zakiya realized she wanted to deepen her knowledge of enterprise and scale—and pursued an Executive MBA at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, where she focused on innovation and entrepreneurship and earned recognition as a Forté and Melissa & Doug Fellow.
She later gained brand-side experience in corporate marketing before stepping into venture capital, where she now combines her creative roots, strategic lens, and people-first approach to support early-stage companies.
Whether she’s pitching the fund, mentoring a founder, or connecting with strategic partners, Zakiya brings bold energy, business fluency, and the ability to move people and ideas forward. She’s on a mission to help build great companies—and great relationships—every step of the way.
